Berrien County is a tier two county which allows a new company or expanding company when creating 50 jobs with a job tax credit of $2500 plus and an extra $500 dollars for being a member in a regional joint development authority making a total of $3000.

Businesses with high-value inventories and multi-state distribution systems can benefit significantly from this tax exemption. Berrien County has implemented the Freeport Tax Exemption and will give tax exemption on your Company’s goods destined for out-of-state. Berrien County offers 100% Freeport exemption from ad valorem taxes on the following classes of inventory: finished goods destined for out of state.
Georgia Job Tax Credit: The Job Tax Credit Program provides a tax credit on Georgia income taxes for eligible businesses that create new jobs in counties or "less-developed" census tract areas. Berrien County is ranked as a Georgia Tier II county. This ranking qualifies you, the new business, with $3000 in Georgia income tax credits for every new job created.
